Dr Cox

Dr. Sidney T. Cox was born and raised in Savannah, Georgia. He received master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Georgia. He then received his dental degree and a master’s degree in pediatric dentistry from the University of Tennessee Dental School at Memphis. He has been practicing pediatric dentistry and hospital dentistry in Chattanooga, Tennessee for over 40 years.

Dr. Cox was the pediatric dental consultant of the nationally recognized Tennessee Craniofacial Center until its dissolution in 2016. He continues to provide dental and orthopedic care for children with craniofacial anomalies. Dr. Cox is on staff with T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital at Erlanger, where he performs various dental procedures for children who require general anesthesia for treatment. He is certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and exceeds the annual continuing education requirement for his profession. Dr. Cox is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Association and the Chattanooga Area Dental Society. He is board certified and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

In March 2010, Dr. Cox received the Terri Farmer Service Award from the Craniofacial Foundation of America.  Dr. Cox has been involved with the care of cleft palate children since 1976. Please view the article at:

In his spare time, Dr. Cox loves cycling and being outdoors.
